Welcome to this month's edition of the Rotary Breakfast Club newsletter! I’ve decided to transition to a monthly format to provide more in-depth insights and updates that truly resonate with you. In this issue, we explore how being an active member of Rotary can significantly enhance your leadership skills.
Leadership is a continuous journey of growth and development. "Leadership is influence." (John Maxwell). What better way to hone our leadership than through hands-on service projects, Rotary offers a unique platform to cultivate and refine your leadership abilities through collaborative initiatives, and diverse networking opportunities. By engaging in our shared mission of "Service Above Self," you not only contribute to meaningful change in our community but also evolve into a more effective, compassionate, and inspiring leader.
Last week we had the privilege to have Liz Russell, President of EMCC share what is happening at their campus and the difference they're making. She is not only an accomplished speaker but did a fantastic job demonstrating how the mission of EMCC (to empower students to meet their personal and professional goals, and to collaborate with our business and community partners to support their growth and success) is being lived out in real time.
The Four Way Test
In our first meeting this month, Andrew, our new president, shared one of his initiatives to reinforce the Rotary 4-Way Test within our group. He expressed his desire to have it displayed on a banner so we could keep these guiding principles in front of us at all times. We're excited to announce that thanks to a generous donation from one of our members, we have now purchased a beautiful banner that proudly displays the 4-Way Test for our club. This banner serves as a constant reminder of our commitment to truth, fairness, goodwill, and mutual benefit in all our actions. Let's continue to uphold these values as we work together to make a positive impact in our community.
As we focus on enhancing our leadership skills this month, I challenge each of you to take on a "Leadership in Action" project. Identify a community need or a service opportunity that aligns with your passions and skills. We have several projects coming up over the next few months:

We have many projects coming up where you can practice and demonstrate your leadership.Take pictures and share on social media, tagging our group. By sharing these moments, we can inspire and attract the next generation of leaders—Gen Z and Millennials. It's a simple way to show the difference we are making. Believe it or not, these visual stories resonate with younger generations who are passionate about purpose-driven work and social impact. Together, we can inspire more young leaders to join us in our mission of "Service Above Self.

Let's support the Belfast Rotary!
Belfast Rotary Club will be hosting their annual event Harbor Fest and Classic Boat Show from Friday August 16 through Sunday the 18th with activities all weekend on the waterfront. activities include Regatta, 5k run, craft fairs, pancake breakfast, live music, and more. This is a spectacular weekend and a great way to support another Rotary Club. More information can be found on the Belfast Rotary web page or belfastharborfest.com.
