Welcome to our Rotary Breakfast Club newsletter! In this issue, we're focusing on balancing hard work and fun. A few weekends ago, I tackled the task of cleaning out the garage for winter. Living with a neat freak means everything comes out and gets put back in a more organized way—tedious but necessary! To lighten the mood, we cranked up some music, and suddenly, the job didn’t seem so bad, although I lost the coin toss and had to listen to country music!

This reminds me of how we approach our service projects in Rotary. Yes, volunteering is work, but we make it enjoyable. We laugh, learn about each other, and form lasting bonds. With several exciting projects ahead, now's the time to embrace both hard work and fun. Whether we're building homes with Habitat for Humanity or planning a community event, let’s keep the spirit of joy alive while making a meaningful impact together!

  
 
In honor of World Polio Day (Today, 10/24), the Orono Brewing Company hosted Purple Pinkie Day.  A very fun way to raise money for Polio!
Thank you to Ken Nagle, Jeff Plourde &  Larry Diehl who worked for a good part of the day on the Habitat for Humanity house in Old Town.  They finished siding on the opposite end of the building that our club members worked on back in August.
72nd Annual Hunter's Breakfast- November 2nd 5-9AM

Join us as we support the Old Town Rotary. Proceeds from the Old Town Rotary Club's Hunter's Breakfast will be used to support its many and varied community and international projects. Open to all! Please join us for a breakfast of scrambled eggs, ham, pancakes, homefries, beans, Labree's donuts and Dunkin' Donuts coffee and hot cocoa. $5 per person

Pumpkins in the Park-the Wild Adventure!!!
Join UCP of Maine's 22nd Annual Pumpkins in the Park on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 11 AM to 5 PM at the Anah Shriner’s building (1404 Broadway, Bangor). Enjoy an indoor Halloween event for the whole family featuring trick-or-treating, face painting, prizes, and more! This year’s theme is Wild Adventure, so wear your costumes and explore pumpkin patches with glowing jack-o’-lanterns. The last hour (4-5 PM) offers a sensory-friendly environment with low music and lights on. Admission: $5 per person, $15 per family. Proceeds benefit UCP of Maine. Call 941-2952 for more info.
