Each Veterans Day, the Bangor Area Breakfast Rotary Club heats up the griddles and flips hundreds of pancakes. The club serves between 400 and 600 hearty breakfasts, and veterans eat for free. Money raised is used to purchase new coats for the Salvation Army which are donated through the WLBZ 2 Coats for Kids drive. That new winter outer-wear for infants, children, and adults goes into holiday gifts for needy area families. Members who work on this committee secure breakfast supplies, cook, serve, and staff the event. We have more fun shopping for the new coats in late November and delivering them during the WLBZ 2 Coats for Kids Day live broadcast the first Saturday in December.
